We are a thriving, dynamic thrift store dedicated to creating an optimal shopping experience. Frequent sales offer 50% and more off selected merchandise. New items arrive daily. All items are inspected, cleaned, and organized for your safety and convenience. And every penny you spend at our store supports our rescue animals. Our humane society is so blessed with wonderful donations of gently used clothing that every day we offer a special sale on clothes by filling a small or large bag. Great items for everyone!

Donations
Please reference the policies below for information on donation times, accepted items, and our intake rules.
Intake Schedule
- We accept Thrift Store donations every other week. Please check our intake calendar to make sure you deliver your donations on an eligible day.
- The Thrift Store accepts donations SPECIFICALLY for the Shelter at any time (food, bedding, etc.).
Items Not Accepted
- Mattresses and box springs.
- Large tube style televisions.
- Used printers and fax machines.
- ANY non-working electric or electronic device or appliance.
- ANY items that are broken or in need of repair (furniture, fixtures etc.).
- Heavily soiled or stained items (clothes, plastics, furniture etc.).
Acceptance Policies
- Items may be refused at the time of donation due to overstock and/or storage space. Such items will be related to donor at the time of donation or if donor calls beforehand.
- Call the Thrift Store before donating large furniture items to see if room is available.
- ALL donations are to be taken in through the back entrance of the store.
- Customer assistance with large items may be needed with large items upon donation.
- ANY ITEM(S) MAY BE TURNED AWAY AT TIME OF DONATION IF DEEMED UNACCEPTABLE BY THRIFT STORE MANAGEMENT.
- We DO NOT pickup items.
- Closed for donations during inclement weather. DO NOT LEAVE DONATIONS WHEN STORE IS CLOSED OR NOT RECEIVING DONATIONS.
The Thrift Store accepts donations every other week. Refer to the calendar below for our upcoming donation weeks.
COVID Restrictions and Procedures
At the AARC Thrift Store, we take safety seriously! Below are our current policies.
- Because of quarantining purposes, we have established the one week on one week off procedure for donations as to quarantine all donated items for a 5 day minimum time period.
- Masks or face coverings are required for all customers that have not been vaccinated
- Hand sanitizing areas are available throughout the store.
- Restroom facilities are CLOSED at this time to curb the spread of the virus.
- Social distancing is to be practiced during shopping. We have marked with tape on the floor, 6 foot increments to help with this procedure.
Purchasing Policies and Procedures
Below are our current Thrift Store shopping, payment and return policies.
- Any returns will be compensated with store credit ONLY.
- We accept cash, checks and credit/debit card purchases. All credit/debit card purchases willinclude a 4% fee.
- We will HOLD an item, without payment, for up to 4 days. Customer must leave their name and phone number. After the 4 days, the item will be sold as usual.
- We will HOLD A PAID FOR item for up to 10 days before pickup is required. Customer must leave name and phone number. If after 10 days, and customer can not be reached, it will return for sale again and customer will receive store credit when located.
- There will be NO returns on clothing and apparel, including shoes, coats and jackets. This includes Bag Sale items.
- ASSISTANCE FROM CUSTOMER OF PICKUP AND LOADING OF LARGE ITEMS WILL BE EXPECTED AND APPRECIATED.
- Daily specials are advertised on specials board upon entry to the store. You can always ask a store clerk about any sales we may be having that day.

Procedures being performed by employees and volunteers:
- Wearing of masks at all times.
- Use of gloves when necessary.
- Wiping and sanitizing shopping baskets after each use by customer.
- Wiping and sanitizing of high traffic areas, regularly (door knobs, countertops etc.).
- Spraying sanitizer spray, storewide, daily.
- Making sure sanitizing areas are adequately stocked.

Volunteer at the Thrift Store
We are looking for people of all ages and abilities to help out in our thrift store. Court-appointed volunteers are welcome. Apply online or come to our store anytime to fill out a volunteer application and speak to our manager.
